There were no any alternate of Pakistani TV dramas for many years. If we go back to 1990s, Pakistani dramas were highly demanded on that time. The content of Dramas broadcasted on TV screens was more appreciable and comprehensive than it is now. And what could be the reason for it? We believe we are running out of sensible Scriptwriters and Directors who are unaware what would be the appropriate or societal-reflecting story or at least an awareness bringing campaign.

In today’s modern era, we still miss dramas like Tanhaiyaan, Ankahi, Dhoop Kinarey, Nadaan Nadiya, Alpha Bravo Charlie, Taleem-e-Balighan, Ainak Wala Jinn, etc. Legendary screenwriters like Anwar Maqsood, Haseena Moin, Sahira Kazmi, etc. are our assets whose strong screenwriting took the drama industry to the top. But we couldn’t produce more writers like them due to which our drama industry lost its reputation. Today, our dramas are not entertaining because the writer loses content and focus, the story looks fake and we lose our audience.

MUSANNIF is an initiative taken by young and literate writers of Pakistan. We have such writers who follow the footprints of their legends in drama screenwriting. By producing strong and realistic drama scripts, we are striving to revive the drama industry of Pakistan.
